PRE & POST-MEETEX Familiarization trips - destinations, descriptions and links

Pre MEETEX FAM trip to Regions Kvarner (Opatija) and Istria (Rovinj)
March 7th-9th - arrivals to Zagreb Airport should be latest by noon March 7th
Kvarner – Diversity is beautiful
Kvarner is a region of varied stories and strong emotions. It is an ecologically unpolluted area, rich in cultural and historic heritage, with brilliant business events and tourist programs and opportunities. So close and yet so different from your daily routine.
OpatijaA Trendsetting place
“Be introduced in Opatija”, that has always been a matter of prestige and an enduring mantra. Opatija has always been a centre of the most important business, art and entertainment events in Croatia. Charming your guests is easier in Opatija, because Opatija has plenty of charm. This is unwritten rule which has been valid for more than a century and a half. Opatija’s long tradition as a convention destination and holiday resort is best illustrated by the fact that it was the venue for the Fourth Congress of Austrian Balneologists in 1904. With more than 20 hotels, most of them rated with four or five stars, numerous restaurants and recreational facilities, entertainment programmes and events of various kinds.
Istria – The heart-shaped peninsula reaching deep into the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea is a hidden garden of beauty which opens the door to the sunny and warm Mediterranean.
Multicultural and hospitable, this is an area where wide-ranging diversities have come together to form a happy union. Small, picturesque medieval towns perched on the peaks of its hills emanate the peace and gentleness of landscapes. Historic and top modern venues and hotels, rich gastronomy, wine roads, green and blue areas will be great resources to every business event.
Rovinj - Situated on the west coast of Istria, Rovinj is one of the most popular and most developed tourist resorts in Croatia. The old town is built on the island, which was only connected with the mainland in the 18th century. Known as one of the most picturesque and romantic towns on Mediterranean, over the last few decades Rovinj attracts a large number of tourists and business events.
