Meet the people behind MEETEX initiative and its organization.
Ranko has over 30 years in meeting industry as a PCO and DMC. After spending 20 years in a large travel company, with his colleagues in 2010 he creates PerfectMeetings.hr – a small company exclusively focused on meetings, incentives and events. Their other brand is Meeting Industry Consultants providing a wide range of consulting services in the meetings and events sector. In addition, Ranko is a co-founder of the Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA), a non-profit organization connecting meeting professionals in Croatia with the worldwide knowledge and expertise. Since its foundation in 2011, he serves on a pro bono basis, first as a vice-president, and since April 2017 as a president of CMPA. Ranko naturally holds the CCMEP - Certified Croatian Meetings and Events Professional certificate.
Adem's - in the region better known under the nickname Braco - extensive international career in the world of MICE lasts for over 30 years. It included executive positions in MICE support and organization companies in Croatia and Spain - taking part in events with over 20.000 participants – as well as management roles in Meeting Infrastructure projects in Europe, Africa and Asia. Adem's list of references is pretty long and counts with clients such as IOC, WB, IMF, UN, NATO, EU, EC, OSCE etc. Since 2011 he focuses on Business and Market Development, and since 2016 on Destination Marketing and B2B events management, as well as on MICE Consulting, including special niches like connections between technology, humanity and behavioral economics, as well as sustainability - all naturally in MICE environment. Recently he founded MICEBOOST, a MICE consultancy company. Braco is regular CCMEP Certified member of CMPA Croatian Meeting Professionals Association, a member of SKAL International, and is a frequent speaker at industry gatherings. Aleksandra is a Meetings and Events Consultant with more than two decades of experience in creating extraordinary meetings and special events. Aleksandra‘s professional experience is unbeatable, and she can provide great services for both corporate and association events. Having worked for many years for event management companies and DMCs, she has developed a strong ability to manage high-profile meetings and incentive programs from small to very large in size and scope. Since 2013 she is a self-employed Meetings & Events Consultant. Aleksandra is also a multilingual licensed tourist guide specialised in fam-trips and site inspections for meeting planners. Aleksandra has academic degree Master of Economics of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics with specialisation in tourism and hospitality industry, and lives with her husband and two children in Zagreb, Croatia. Debora is goal-oriented, creative and resourceful sales professional, with more than 10 years of experience in hospitality industry. Debora started her hotel experience journey with Hilton where she gained very extensive knowledge in both operations and sales. Detailed know-how in all sales segments (MICE, Leisure, Corporate,) was over the years enriched by the opportunity to work with different industries and resulted in exceptional experience she uses when dealing with all kind of events.
After joining Importanne Resort, a complex that links 5 hotels and 14 meeting rooms, Debora decided to apply her knowledge exclusively in MICE segment by taking the role of Senior MICE Manager. In 2019 Debora as one of the founders, took over the role of Managing Director at tailoredAdria, an agency specialized in tailor-made MICE projects in Adriatic region.
As of April 2017, Debora serves as in the Executive Board as a Vice-President of Croatian Meeting Professionals Association.
Goran is a dedicated meetings industry professional with over 20 years of experience in tourism industry. He worked previously in different positions in hotel management and since 2008 works in destination marketing with Opatija Convention and Incentive Bureau. He served as Board member in two mandates for City Destination Alliance association, where he gathered extensive network of international connections.
Through his job Goran was involved in organization of various international conferences, public events and festivals. He actively participates in major Croatian Meetings Industry projects as member of Croatian Meeting Professionals Association, where he served as Vice President in one mandate and currently serves as Secretary. Goran holds a CCMEP certificate and he is a member of Skal International Kvarner.
Goran has Masters degree in Economics on Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija and MBA in Tourism Management on Modul University in Vienna.
He is father of four daughters and lives with his family near Opatija. Goran is also a passionate runner and windsurfer.
Andreja is tourism specialist with an extensive professional experience. She has been working with major regional travel companies and travel agencies developing various new products. She has launched and successfully managed wellness product in travel agency Generalturist and was first in Croatia to create a wellness catalogue containing the best destinations and their offers. Nowadays Andreja is owner and editor of Relaxino wellness sport holiday portal specialized for wellness travels and much more - the best offers, music and cultural events, interesting facts on destinations and their surroundings, all at one place… a portal that allows you to search for the desired destinations quickly and easily. For over a decade she is organizing various B2B workshop for travel professionals in the region focusing especially on connecting Slovenian tourist partners and travel agencies from Croatia. With her range of experience she will for sure take good care about you and your participation as hosted buyer at MEETEX helping you to connect, be inspired and feel good here in Croatia.
Andreja has academic degree Master of Economics of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics with specialisation in tourism and hospitality industry. She is a big lover of animals, travelling, good music and food.
Nicole is a marketing and events professional with over 15 years of industry experience. She is the founder of Events&Co. – a boutique event planning agency based in Toronto, Canada. Nicole has planned events on behalf of media figures such as Madonna, Kim Kardashian and Meryl Streep. She has worked with international brands and partners such as Microsoft, HP, Vanity Fair, David Yurman, The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Sundance Film Festival (Utah) and the Olympics. Additionally, she has created marketing and event programs for retailers such as Hudson’s Bay Company (owner of Saks Fifth Avenue) and Topshop.
Nicole has produced events in such cities as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, London and Dubrovnik. As noted, she has expanded Events&Co.’s reach to Croatia, where her team is proud to offer event planning services in the form of corporate retreats, conferences, incentive travel programs, luxury destination weddings and other personal and corporate celebrations.
Most recently, Nicole has been named MEETEX Representative for North America.
